John joined Dolleymores in 1989 and became a partner in 1992. He specialises in patent application and prosecution in the physics, electronics, computing and telecommunications fields.
Having graduated with a degree in physics, John gained experience in both private practice, and in the dedicated patent department of a major UK Defence and Electronics Company. He qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1987 and as a European Patent Attorney in 1988. He is also a Registered Trade Mark Attorney. With this technical background, John is ideally placed to recommend commercially-focussed IP solutions for Dolleymores clients, with an understanding that combines technical detail with an holistic view of their business.
When away from his desk, John enjoys treading the boards, taking on major roles in local community drama productions and occasionally turning his hand to directing.
